Pear Tree Cottage suits couples, small families and friends looking for a base near Bowness without staying in the town centre itself. The cottage has two bedrooms—a double upstairs and a room with three single beds downstairs—sleeping four in total, with one bathroom. Steep stairs connect the floors with a multi-level landing.

Downstairs, the living room has a TV and DVD player, while the kitchen is properly equipped for self-catering with an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. Upstairs is the main bedroom and shower room. The essentials—heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi—are all provided. Outside there's an enclosed garden with seating, and parking for one car on site. No smoking throughout.

The location works well for walkers; Lake Windermere's steamers are a five-minute walk away, and Bowness shops, restaurants and bars are just beyond that. The surrounding area has easy access to the kind of fell and lakeside walks the region is known for.
