Photo: Pods in the Sticks

Walking through the entrance of Pods in the Sticks, you step directly into an open-plan space where the living area, kitchen and dining zone flow together on a single level. A sofa bed and a separate double bedroom mean the pod sleeps four. The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking—microwave, air fryer and fridge—rather than basic heating. A shower room with cubicle and heated towel rail completes the layout. Ground-floor access throughout makes it straightforward to move around.

This is a working sheep farm near Kendal, positioned on the edge of both the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. From the garden you have access to a sitting area, garden furniture and a fire pit. Fell views open across farmland towards Kentmere, Whinfell and the Howgills. Parking for two cars sits on site. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are all included. One dog is welcome. The hamlet of Lambrigg is your location, with walking routes across rolling countryside and up onto surrounding fells accessible from the doorstep. Kendal lies a short drive away, and the M6 is ten minutes off.

Fantastic place! We stayed as a family of 4 for 3 nights. The pod itself is beautiful, but the extra little touches are fantastic - tea and coffee, comfy bedding, beautiful cushions, and an electric car charging point. There are only 2 pods on site, making it really quiet, just the sound of the sheep and the birds. The bed and the bedding were so comfy. Kitchen appliances were very handy too. I would highly recommend!

What a stunning place to stay! The pods are done to an immaculate standard, very spacious and comfortable. The owners are warm and friendly and it will be a shame to leave. We stayed over 2 nights on route to the isle of Arran and then on the return for 2 nights. We were looking forward to our return as it's so wonderful. I have already recommended to several friends and look forward to returning asap. We went for a drive and stopped off at a cafe which turned into an osprey breeding ground and a spot of boat fishing ( as you do!) . We can't wait for our next adventure here. Thankyou Angela and Nigel. 5 stars

We stayed here May 26. The pods were lovely and well equipped and have a great view of the local countryside. If i was to suggest something to improve on maybe a little more signage leading up to the property, other than that i highly recommend them if you are looking to get away. Will definitely go back
