Photo: Pods in the Sticks

Pods in the Sticks sits on a working sheep farm in the hamlet of Lambrigg, making it equally suited to couples after a quiet break, families wanting space to spread out, or anyone travelling with a pet. The pod sleeps four—two adults and two children—in a layout that keeps things compact without feeling cramped. One bedroom has a double bed; a sofa bed in the open-plan living area provides the second sleeping space. A shower room and kitchen area with microwave and air fryer complete the interior, and the essentials like electricity, heating, bed linen and wi-fi are all covered.

What matters most here is the setting and what's outside. A garden with seating and a firepit means evenings can happen outdoors, weather permitting. One small dog is welcome. Parking for two cars sits on site. The location straddles two landscapes: fell walks start from the doorstep across farmland, while Kendal is ten minutes away by car. From there, both the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales are genuinely within reach for day trips or longer exploration.

Fantastic place! We stayed as a family of 4 for 3 nights. The pod itself is beautiful, but the extra little touches are fantastic - tea and coffee, comfy bedding, beautiful cushions, and an electric car charging point. There are only 2 pods on site, making it really quiet, just the sound of the sheep and the birds. The bed and the bedding were so comfy. Kitchen appliances were very handy too. I would highly recommend!

What a stunning place to stay! The pods are done to an immaculate standard, very spacious and comfortable. The owners are warm and friendly and it will be a shame to leave. We stayed over 2 nights on route to the isle of Arran and then on the return for 2 nights. We were looking forward to our return as it's so wonderful. I have already recommended to several friends and look forward to returning asap. We went for a drive and stopped off at a cafe which turned into an osprey breeding ground and a spot of boat fishing ( as you do!) . We can't wait for our next adventure here. Thankyou Angela and Nigel. 5 stars

We stayed here May 26. The pods were lovely and well equipped and have a great view of the local countryside. If i was to suggest something to improve on maybe a little more signage leading up to the property, other than that i highly recommend them if you are looking to get away. Will definitely go back
