Ransome Lodge sits within a holiday park close to Coniston Water, where the walking and wild swimming are serious draws. The Coniston Mountains rise beyond the trees, visible from the decked garden. Lingmell and the wider fells form the backdrop to what is essentially a quiet corner of the Lake District, though the shops, pubs and restaurants of Coniston village are only three miles away.
The lodge is a single-storey property sleeping four, with two bedrooms—a kingsize and two singles—and two bathrooms. Downstairs is open-plan, combining the living area (with a TV and DVD player), dining space and kitchen in one room, with patio doors opening onto the garden. The kitchen has what you need to cook properly: oven, gas hob, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. There is a car park on site. Electricity, wi-fi, bed linen and towels are provided, and the heating is included in the price.
The property does not accept smoking. The gravel path to the entrance is steep at first, and the parking area itself is on an incline.
