Selside Hall - Selsed
Westmorland and Furness
View on Google MapsPhoto: Selside Hall
Selside sits in rural Westmorland between Kendal and the high fells, close enough to the South Lakes for easy exploring but set back from the bustle. Selside Hall is a conversion of Victorian farm buildings on the edge of the historic hall's grounds, with a small tarn nearby that attracts wildlife and offers a quiet spot to sit. The property sleeps 5: a king bedroom with ensuite on the lower ground floor, a super-king and a single bedroom upstairs, plus a family bathroom with bath and shower. The open-plan living space has a woodburner, and the kitchen is equipped for proper cooking with a range cooker, dishwasher and all the basics. Wi-Fi, heating, bed linen and towels are included; initial fuel for the woodburner is too. Laundry facilities and parking for two cars are on site.
The setting suits families or two couples wanting space to themselves—the whole property is yours. A garden with seating looks out across fields and tarns towards the Howgills. Walking starts from the door: Longsleddale and the Dales Way are nearby, and Kendal is a short drive for supplies or a change of scene. One well-behaved pet is welcome. No smoking inside.

Lovely cottage, beautiful location. TV in bedroom didn't work for most of our stay. Very warm and cosy, lovely Christmas tree.
