🏡 Self-Catering Cottage

The Den

Westmorland and Furness

Kendal and Sedbergh sit within easy reach of The Den, a one-bedroom cottage on the edge of the Lake District National Park. Kendal offers independent shops, pubs and restaurants; Sedbergh, known as The Book Town, has cobbled streets lined with second-hand bookshops and historic buildings. The M6 is nearby for those arriving by car, and bridleways from the property give direct access to the fells and open country.

The cottage is arranged on a single storey, with an open-plan living space, a kitchen equipped for proper cooking, and a bedroom with a double bed. There is a shower room and a separate sitting area that opens through patio doors onto a large garden with a patio. The farm has stabling available if you are bringing a horse, and guests can fish the owners' lake—one free day is included with your booking. Parking for two cars is on site. Bed linen, towels, wifi and electricity are included; the cottage does not permit smoking.

The Den shares the High Thorn Farm estate with two other properties in a rural setting. Its position on the national park border makes it suitable for walkers, riders and those exploring the lakes and market towns of south Cumbria.
