Sparrow’s Nest
Westmorland and Furness
Ullswater is four miles away, and from there the lake's shoreline walks and water activities are within reach. Penrith town centre, with its independent shops and restaurants, lies equally close. The wider Lake District and Yorkshire Dales are accessible for day trips, making Sparrow's Nest a practical base for exploring the north-west rather than a retreat cut off from anywhere useful.
The lodge is a detached timber building arranged entirely on the ground floor, which means no stairs to navigate. Three bedrooms sleep up to six: a kingsize with an ensuite shower, a double, and a bunk room that can accommodate three children (with a trundle bed and travel cot available). The main bathroom has a bath with shower over. The open-plan living and dining space has a woodburner, Freeview TV and DVDs. The kitchen is fully fitted with oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine, so you can cook properly or keep meals simple. Wi-Fi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included, plus initial logs for the burner. The back garden has a patio, seating area and barbecue, with views over fields towards the Lakeland fells to the west.
One dog can stay free. Parking for two cars is on-site. The property does not permit smoking. Families with young children, groups of friends, or couples wanting easy access to fell walking will find what they need here.
