Eight bedrooms and eight bathrooms make Strickland Manor an unusual choice for large groups—the kind of space where extended families or walking parties can spread out properly. Each bedroom has its own ensuite, and the house sleeps 16 across a mix of kingsize, double and zip-and-link beds. One pet is welcome. The whole property is yours alone, with parking for eight cars on site.

Downstairs, a games room stocked with books, games and entertainment keeps everyone occupied between ventures out. The kitchen is fully equipped for serious cooking, with a separate utility room housing two washing machines and a tumble dryer. A woodburner warms the living and dining spaces. Bed linen, towels, wi-fi and electricity are included, as are initial logs for the fire. A lawned garden with patio and seating looks out towards Oaklands Country Park, a short walk away; a barbecue is available on request.

The village of Great Strickland sits in the Eden Valley near Penrith, convenient for fell walking and rural exploration. A pub stands barely a hundred metres away. The house has accessibility features including a ground-floor bedroom with disabled facilities and wet room. No smoking throughout.

A lovely house to stay at with a big family group. It was very clean and lots of space for people to do their own thing. Would be helpful to have some salt/ pepper just to have basics for cooking, and a second dishwasher would have been great but I get there isn't loads of space. Otherwise it is very well equipped with plates, cutlery, pans and utensils! We would absolutely stay again though! Thanks!

Absolutely stunning home and surroundings The interior and exterior and the personal touch was 1st class nothing was to much trouble from booking, checking in and departure. The rooms are very spacious and very comfortable, the home is more than adequately equipped for the 8 bedrooms Everything was perfect from start to finish I would give this a definite 10 out of 10

A most excellent venue: being located far from all the busy popular tourist areas of the Lake District. Set in a area of peace and quite; surrounded by the countryside on the edge of a small tranquil village. The manor is well equipped with all the facilities necessary. A large fully fitted kitchen with all the utensils provided. Extending off the main kitchen area is a large breakfast bar area which then leads onto a large dining area with table for 16 places. From the dining area there is a large relaxing sitting room equipped with TV, a small personal library, large comfy seating, and being a country manor a large log burner that sits between both the sitting room and the dining room. There is also a smaller sitting room off from the larger sitting room. All bedrooms are immaculate and spacious with ensuite, TV, large beds, plenty of cupboard space and gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside. The Manor has a large car park to accommodate all visiting; a large patio and garden that faces the sun should the day be bright and beautiful; and equipped with garden furniture and bbq. There is a games room on the ground floor with small pool table and shelving full of family board games, also TV and drinks cabinet although no drinks supplied! You must provide your own of course along with food should you decide to use the facilities or you could eat out. There are also plenty of places for you to visit should you wish to venture.
