Waingap Cottage is a traditional hillside property that has been modernised while keeping its original character. The extended kitchen-diner is equipped for full cooking, and downstairs also has a living room with woodburner and a bathroom with bath and shower. Upstairs are two bedrooms: one with a kingsize bed and one with bunks, sleeping four in total. Wi-Fi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included, and there is private parking for one car at the property.
The cottage sits in open countryside within the Lake District National Park, with walking routes starting from the door—the Dales Way runs nearby, and the Central and South Eastern fells are within reach for longer hikes. A mile away is a pub in Crook; Staveley village, with its gastro pub and brewery beside the River Kent, is a scenic two-mile walk. The surrounding landscape supports deer, owls, pheasants and rabbits, and seasonal blackberries and raspberries grow along the lanes. There are six steps up from the lane to reach the property. No smoking is permitted inside.
