Warner Lea is a terraced cottage in Bowness, within walking distance of the village centre and set in a conservation area. It sleeps six across three bedrooms: a super kingsize on the first floor, two singles also on the first floor, and a kingsize on the second floor. There is one bathroom with a bath and shower cubicle, plus a separate toilet. The single bathroom means families may find the layout tight at busy times.

Downstairs, the living room has a log burner and Freeview TV; the kitchen/dining room is equipped for everyday cooking with an electric oven, gas hob, microwave and washing machine. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are included. There is parking for two cars on site and a bike store. An enclosed courtyard provides a small sitting-out area, and a tumble dryer is housed in a separate outhouse.

Bowness sits on the eastern shore of Windermere and suits those wanting access to walking, water sports and the lake's attractions. The village of Windermere is about a mile away. Ambleside, Coniston and Grasmere are within reach by car, as is the car ferry across the lake. A shop, pub and restaurant are 400 yards from the property. No smoking throughout.

We had a great stay at this well equipped and spacious house. Everything was clean and worked well. Plenty of hot water. Parking was ok for 1 vehicle but would be tight for 2. Bathroom is on top floor which may not suit everyone but was fine for us. TV's in all bedrooms was a nice touch and WiFi worked well. Overall felt this was very good value for money.

Great stay in a lovely property. Fabulous location, easy walking distance to shops, pubs etc, plenty of parking space for 2 cars. Quiet area, spacious rooms. Cannot fault the tasteful decor and the bedrooms were lovely. A bit chilly downstairs unless you use the lig burner and cold everywhere in the mornings unless you work out how to put the heating on! The downside is there is only the one bathroom, although the separate toilet does help. I was surprised that the bathroom lock was broken and had not been fixed as a matter of urgency, especially as we were a group of 4 adults and the reassurance of extra privacy in the one bathroom would have been welcomed. Also the tv in the top bedroom had sound but no picture, and one of the lamps wasn't working- but that's me being picky! Would definitely stay again.
