About Smiths Hotel
Smiths Hotel occupies a row of seafront buildings along Knightstone Road in Weston-super-Mare, its position on the promenade giving many rooms a direct outlook over the bay. It's a straightforward, well-kept hotel rather than a grand one, with a lift for easier access, family and accessible rooms, and en-suite bathrooms throughout.
Rooms come with free WiFi and in-room drinks, and a number include balconies where you can sit out and watch the water. There's a restaurant and bar on site serving dishes such as fish and chips and pork loin, along with a full breakfast to start the day, though the pace of dining service can vary depending on how busy things get. Staff are consistently described as helpful, and parking is available for those arriving by car.
The seafront location puts golf, fishing, cycling and watersports all within easy reach, and there's no shortage of pubs, restaurants and entertainment nearby for evenings out. It's a practical base for exploring Weston-super-Mare, with the beach essentially on the doorstep.
What guests say
We held my grandmothers wake at Smiths and it was brilliant that’s the only way I can describe it. It’s a hard day obviously but the care and kindness of the safe really helped, nothing was too much trouble. The food was perfect and delicious. We had about 80 people in the front marquee. The space and location with parking next door is so convenient. John the owner is so helpful.thank you for making the day a celebration of a lovely lady.

Good location on seafront .very close to a car park which is useful for 24 hour stay .all staff are friendly and helpful at hotel and welcoming .we stayed for 2 nights .room was clean but tired .and could benefit from a lighter colour paint on walls in bedroom , we was in room 30 , bed was very comfortable although pillows were a bit flat , okay for a 2 night stay .had lovely evening meal of belly pork. We did have breakfast the first morning at a cost of 9.99 .it was good portions and cooked well.with cereal ,yogurt .juice .toast etc .but we couldn't finish it all .so we did not feel we wanted to pay £10 for breakfast if we was not going to finish it .so we went to Greg's in the town centre as we were heading home.

We went on one of the hotest weeks ever. Unfortunately the hotel doesn't have aircon and all the guests and staff were struggling. One morning no staff turned up to serve breakfast. The manager had to be called in. It's been reported that this isn't the first time. In our group was 29 people and we were all seated in there dining room for breakfast and evening which wasn't comfortable. There was a seating area just outside the dining room which would separate us a bit but we wouldn't have been sitting on top of each other in the heat.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five-Star Review for Smiths Hotel Recently brought a coach group of 30+ passengers to Smiths Hotel, and I have to say — absolutely outstanding from start to finish. A special mention has to go to Tina and her team, who were simply brilliant. From the moment we arrived, everything was handled with professionalism, organisation, and a genuinely warm welcome that made both myself and the passengers feel right at home. Managing a large group is no small task, but Tina and the team made it look effortless. Check-in was smooth and efficient, food service was well timed and high quality, and nothing was ever too much trouble. The attention to detail and care shown throughout the stay really stood out. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and well presented, and the feedback from passengers was all positive. It’s clear the whole team takes pride in what they do. As a driver, it makes a huge difference working with a hotel that understands group travel and coach logistics — and Smiths Hotel absolutely delivers on that. Top-class service all round. Massive thanks to Tina and her team — I’ll definitely be back with more groups! 👏
