About The Spice Ship

Rooms at The Spice Ship come with en-suite bathrooms and drinks provided on arrival, and certain rooms go further with a microwave and washing machine, useful extras for anyone staying a few days in Weymouth. The overall feel is cosy and traditional rather than sleek, in keeping with the pub downstairs.

That pub does much of the work here, with a restaurant and bar serving classic dishes in generous portions, including Sunday roasts and wood-fired pizzas, plus breakfast to start the day. Staff are friendly and attentive, though service can slow down at busier times. A garden, free WiFi, 24 hour reception and free on-site parking round out the practical side, and pets are welcome.

The address on Preston Road puts guests within reach of Weymouth Beach, Nothe Fort and Portland, with golf, fishing, watersports, cycling and walking all nearby, alongside further pubs and restaurants in the area.

Great location as we were staying on the Haven seaview site. Excellent themed decor and garden area. They have a feature firetruck that they cook pizza from. Pizzas were ok- nothing to rave about. Drinks were reasonably priced. However, we had our pizza on our table and needed drinks. So hubby went in and was served quickly but the tills went down. Unavoidable- it happens. But... they made him stand there and wait almost 15 minutes and refused to let him return to his table to eat! Absolutely unacceptable. We finished our cold food and left. Pizza chef was a friendly chatty guy and the ladies that served our first drinks were also very welcoming and helpful. - shame about the small dark haired server who clearly has no customer service training!

We had my son's 4th birthday party there as he wanted the pizza party after seeing a poster for it. It was brilliant he had 14 friends all sat together making their own pizzas which were then cooked in the fire engine truck. Chef hats and aprons were provided, pizzas base and all the toppings. I would most definitely recommend this as a birthday party option. I see there's an adult pizza party's with prosecco which I'm egar to book with the girls.

What an awesome pub, the establishment itself is just fantastic, being a listed building it retains all of its charm with a small maze of walkways, nooks and bars. We stayed overnight in one of the guest rooms, this was a very nice room indeed, well appointed, although if you have mobility issues you will need to think about it, the stairs are steep and there is a step and low ceiling in the upstairs corridor, but it's a listed building, we loved staying here and really wished we could have stayed longer. Breakfast was very good, portion sizes for the cooked breakfast was just what was needed, along with a good strong coffee. Not only were the staff polite and courteous but the patrons were too, and being a Monday night, it was quiz night and the pub was packed. We really hope to be back one day.

Tasty, affordable and quick food. Very warm and welcoming and child friendly. Credit to Alarna, she is so friendly and enthusiastic about her work and always smiling and happy to help, she definitely needs a raise!!! Thank you, I'm from Reading but when I'm in Weymouth next, I will definitely be coming back to Spice Ship.
