About Pencwm Escapes
Tucked into the foothills of the Preseli Hills on the Carmarthenshire-Pembrokeshire border, Pencwm Escapes offers a proper back-to-nature retreat on car-free meadow pitches. Each generously sized spot comes with its own firepit (wood available from the honesty shop), and there's ample room for awnings or pup tents alongside your main setup. The site's commitment to sustainability shines through with compost toilets, recycling facilities and a communal charging station, all part of the Greener Camping Club ethos that members are automatically enrolled into.
Despite the remote, peaceful setting—about twenty minutes north of Whitland—you're well positioned for coastal forays, with south Pembrokeshire beaches, the Pembrokeshire Coast Path and family-friendly attractions like Folly Farm and the Pembrokeshire Llama Sanctuary all within reach. Dogs are welcome year-round, and the surrounding green hills promise excellent walking. Hot showers and a washing-up area keep things civilised, while the meadow setting and lack of electric hook-ups ensure you genuinely disconnect.

What visitors say
Fabulous stay in The Long house. The welcoming cottage provided a comfortable, warm and cosy place to stay. So well equipped and beautifully decorated in keeping with its gorgeous surroundings. Stunning view over adjacent camping field, blanketed in snow, to the Preseli Mountains. Enjoyed a lovely walk around grounds including interesting, well stocked garden. We also had a fabulous evening in the BBQ hut toasting cheese, raising a glass and enjoying each others company. Thank you Kate for a such a special time. It's been the perfect place to make lasting memories.

I had the most wonderful few nights staying in my campervan at Pencwm Escapes. The tranquility of the location meant I had some real serious sleep and the dog loved exploring the gardens and the fields. Kate was very attentive and communication was excellent. I will most definitely be returning.

🌿 Camping Bliss at Pencwm Escapes, Hebron, Wales My family and I recently enjoyed a wonderful camping holiday at Pencwm Escapes, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. Nestled in a peaceful spot in Hebron, the site is perfectly located—central to many of the area’s top attractions and ideal for day trips. ⛺ The camping area was thoughtfully laid out, giving us our own private space which made the stay feel relaxed and personal. It’s clear the owners have put a lot of care into creating a welcoming and well-organized environment. 🚿 The facilities were excellent—spotlessly clean and well-maintained. The showers were a particular highlight: hot, powerful, and just what you need after a day of exploring the Welsh countryside. We left feeling refreshed and grateful for such a lovely escape. Highly recommended for families looking for a peaceful base with great amenities and easy access to all that West Wales has to offer.

Wonderful weekend away at Pencwm escapes. The incredibly family and dog friendly campsite was a well-equipped hidden gem within the beautiful Welsh countryside. The children absolutely loved the rope swing, exploring the ‘secret gardens’, den building and marshmallow toasting in the hut. As adults we loved the safe serenity this campsite offered us as well as the hot showers and clean toilets. The set up of the pitches was intuitive yet private, offering us plenty of space but with a link through the long grass to keep our group connected. The hosts offered us a very warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble, we will definitely be back and hight recommending to our friends.
