About Alba Sunrise

Auckengill's stretch of Highland coastline sets the scene for Alba Sunrise, a guest accommodation a short distance from Wick with the Castle of Old Wick as a nearby point of interest. Sea views and garden views feature from the property, giving a genuine sense of the open coast and countryside that surrounds it.

Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, and family rooms are available for those travelling with children. Drinks are provided in the room, and breakfast is served to start the day, with free WiFi throughout for staying in touch. A garden gives space to sit outside, and 24 hour reception means arrival times are flexible. Free on-site parking is provided, useful given the rural setting.

The surrounding area suits those who like to be active outdoors, with walking and cycling routes nearby, plus golf and fishing within easy reach. A pub or bar and a restaurant or eatery are also close by for evenings out, alongside other local entertainment. Wick itself lies a few miles along the route, making it a straightforward trip for anyone wanting a change of scene.

We spent a wonderful night here. Super clean, comfortable, Homely room that had everything you could possibly need. The Hosts were so welcoming and friendly, we felt that nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was just divine and the best square sausage that we've had in years. The choices for breakfast in the help yourself and made to order catered to everyone's tastes. Cooked beautifully. The location was close to Gills bay and took no time at all to get an early ferry. We loved it and would def be back if we're up this way again.

We had a fabulous time at Alba Sunrise. The rooms are bright and airy. Very clean. Our room had dual aspect windows and lovely views. The hosts were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good as Owain is a trained chef. Bedding and towels were good quality. Yorkshire tea, Coffee etc available in your room. We went to Keiss beach which was beautiful and quiet. It is also close to John O’groats. Overall excellent stay!

Stayed 2 nights in May and felt very comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic, the omlettes simply wonderful. We were looked after very nicely and received great tips for excursions and pubs. We are really looking forward to seeing you again.

I had a perfect stay after completing the Land’s End to John O’Groats bicycle route. The location couldn’t be better - close enough (and flat enough!) to the end of the route to not feel like a drag but also meaning you only have a 40 minute cycle to Wick to get the train home the next day. The room was very comfortable and cozy and the hosts interesting and friendly. Breakfast was delicious in a room looking out to the ocean. I couldn’t fault my stay.
