Hole Farm - Woodpecker Lodge
Wiltshire
Photo: Google Maps
Woodpecker Lodge sits on working farmland where woodland meets open country, far enough from the everyday that stepping outside feels like leaving it all behind. The setting is genuinely quiet—the village pub is a short walk away, and Salisbury, Stonehenge and The New Forest are all within reach for the days you want to venture out. A handful of miles either way gets you to shops, restaurants and even Thruxton race circuit.
The lodge is a compact, contemporary pod sleeping four: two adults and two children comfortably, with a galleried bedroom upstairs containing single beds. The open-plan ground floor combines living, dining and kitchen areas, with a double bedroom and shower room at the same level. You get electricity, bed linen and towels included. There's a private hot tub for two on the front terrace, garden furniture, and parking for one car on site. The place is non-smoking.
The setting suits people who want to slow down rather than fill a schedule—mornings with coffee overlooking the fields, evenings in the hot tub under a dark sky. It works equally well as a base for exploring Wiltshire, or as the kind of retreat where leaving feels optional.
