About Britannia Hotel Wolverhampton

Lichfield Street sits right in the middle of Wolverhampton, close to the city's pubs, restaurants and evening entertainment, and it's here that the Britannia Hotel Wolverhampton occupies a Victorian building with plenty of character. The setting is thoroughly urban, putting guests within easy reach of whatever the city centre has to offer without needing to drive in.

The hotel has 117 rooms, all en-suite, kept plain and functional rather than styled, which suits guests who simply want a straightforward base. Accessible rooms are available, along with a lift, 24-hour reception and concierge services. There's a restaurant and bar on site for an informal meal or drink, and pets are welcome, though there is no parking at the property, so anyone driving will need to make separate arrangements.

Beyond the hotel's doors, Wolverhampton's own pubs, bars and eateries are all within walking distance, making it easy to head out for the evening. It's a no-frills option for anyone wanting to be right in the thick of the city.

Hotel staff were friendly and polite. The room was good value, I got what I paid for. I was able to hear another guest in the next room talking on their phone and I could hear their TV too. It was clean and in a good location. I'd suggest taking your own tea bags if you like a nice cuppa.

Customer service was dry, wasn’t terrible but there was no real personality or welcoming atmosphere on arrival. The whole hotel smelled terrible and the bathroom smelt like sewerage which actually made me feel sick. The rooms are out dated and the TV is like 10 miles away from the bed and extra small. The beds are pretty small as well. The hotel overall was dark and unwelcoming, strange vibe. Over priced for what you get. Never will stay there again.

The place was well priced for what I needed it for, which was a one night stay. Mattress was a little more firm than I would've liked but reasonably comfortable if you use both pillows (second pillow is usually located in the wardrobe) The room I had was rather quiet which I liked. I wouldn't recommend drinking the tap water. I'd recommend bringing your own drinks if you can. Other than that, a fairly decent low budget hotel, in close proximity to the railway station.

It's cheap, the location us good and the staff are very nice. That's about all the good things I can say. It truly is the weirdest hotel ever. Dilapidated, took ages for the basics like checking in and out. Holes in the carpet, stains (albeit small) on the bedding. It's just not nice or ran well.
