About Novotel Wolverhampton
Every one of the 132 rooms at Novotel Wolverhampton comes with air conditioning, a fridge and a safe as standard, a level of consistency that sets it apart from many city-centre hotels. The property sits on Union Street in the heart of Wolverhampton, within reach of the Grand Theatre and Molineux Stadium, and benefits from easy rail links towards Birmingham and the wider West Midlands.
Rooms are en-suite, with family and accessible options available, and breakfast offers a wide choice to start the day. The restaurant and bar cover meals and drinks on site, with a snack bar, room service and packed lunches for those on the move, while a garden and outdoor seating give extra space to relax. Business travellers are catered for with meeting rooms, and practical touches include a lift, laundry service, an electric vehicle charge point and chargeable on-site parking. Pets are welcome, and kids' meals are available for families.
Staff are consistently described as friendly and professional, and the location is rated highly for convenience, with a golf course, pubs, bars and restaurants all nearby. That said, some rooms have been reported as poorly maintained, so it's worth bearing in mind that presentation can vary despite the strong facilities on offer.
What guests say
The manager here (who is easily recognisable by her resemblance to Jessie Wallace from Eastenders) was very rude and disrespectful. On one occasion she snatched my phone charger out of the wall socket the one next to the toilets (my personal property), which I found unnecessary and unprofessional especially when I wasn't hurting anyone. Would have been better to have said "I know you come here regularly we can't have you sitting here because of the toilets but you're free to go and sit somewhere else and feel free to buy a drink too should you wish" that would have been a much better way to deal with it especially when I have brought drinks before. Also, why have a socket on the wall right by the toilets if apparently no one is allowed to use it? Makes no sense. 🤷 Picking on a regular visitor and failing to see the bigger picture is never a good move nor a good look really. There's no need to act like that nor to burn a bridge unnecessarily. Not normally one to complain but felt this one was worth mentioning. This behaviour has effected the sense of community and created a hostile atmosphere. The location next to the ring road is convenient however convenience alone doesn't necessarily make it worth it. I felt she missed the mark on this occasion but also do appreciate that she probably was under stress and pressure at the same time because of the time of day being prime time (evening) when this happened so I don't take it personally. I have seen her before and she's been fine any other time so yeah I don't know what happened this time round but she was funny with me even before the charger incident and haven't even been in a little while either. Very strange, do better and with a little less attitude!

The room wasn't clean and smelled musty. The carpet had spots all over. Mould around the window. The toilet was dirty, no waste bin or sink. We booked another hotel to stay overnight. The only redeeming factor was the awesome breakfast. Check in was quick as well.

Everything worked, breakfast was good, we were comfortable, and things were clean. No complaints here. Obviously there's only so beautiful a view available of either a car park or a ring road but in terms of the actual inside of the hotel and the available experience, the value was really good.
