About Premier Inn Barnsley Dearne Valley
Meadow Gate sits within reach of the Dearne Valley's wetlands and green countryside, with the RSPB Old Moor reserve nearby making Premier Inn Barnsley Dearne Valley a practical base for anyone drawn to the birdlife and open landscape of this part of South Yorkshire. The hotel itself is a straightforward, modern building spread over two floors, with free on-site parking including an electric vehicle charge point for those arriving by car.
Inside, the 63 rooms are en-suite, with accessible options available, and guests have access to free WiFi and drinks in the room. A restaurant and bar operate on site, alongside breakfast service and 24 hour reception, and luggage storage is available for those breaking up a longer trip. It is a functional rather than a lavish stay, built around comfort and convenience rather than extra flourishes.
Beyond the hotel, the surrounding area offers golf, fishing and horse riding, along with pubs, bars and restaurants nearby for evenings out. Barnsley and Doncaster are both within easy reach, making this a sensible spot for exploring the wider Dearne Valley as well as its immediate wetlands and reserve.
Guests mention this hotel offers comfortable, clean, and well-equipped rooms, with many appreciating the modern decor and effective temperature control. They also highlight the friendly, helpful, and welcoming staff, especially in the restaurant, and enjoy the good quality food and value, particularly with meal deals.
Some reviews mention the parking can be problematic.
