About Lions Row

When it's a proper Suffolk wild-camping adventure you're after, have a look at Lions Row, a spacious back-to-basics site on a working farm just outside Ufford. You'll park at the edge of a three-acre meadow and walk 50–250 yards to pitches mown into long grass, plus there are atmospheric woodland spots on the forest floor. It's a mile from the nearest road, making it quiet and wonderfully safe for kids to roam freely, with deciduous woodland edging the field and footpaths leading to four country pubs within half an hour's walk.

Facilities are purposefully simple—drinking water, washing-up sink, compost loos and gas-heated outdoor showers—but guests rave about how clean and well-maintained everything is, plus the attentive staff who offer practical tips. Open fires are allowed in provided pits, and you'll wake to birdsong and sleep under starlight on clear nights. Heritage attractions like Sutton Hoo are ten minutes' drive, while Wickham Market's shops and takeaways are five minutes away.

The campsite was amazing! We had a lovely stay and would 100% come back! With a car, the location was perfect- close to essential amenities but still in the peaceful countryside. Without a car, there was a lovely pub 30mins walk away and Ubers were available as long as you are happy to wait for them. The campsite had clean toilets and a warm shower and the woodland pitch was spacious and idyllic

Lions Row, a Real Gem of a campsite If you love the feeling of wild camping but still appreciate a few creature comforts, this place is an absolute dream. It’s set in a fantastic location—completely tucked away from busy roads and truly immersed in nature. The pitches are a fantastic size. You get plenty of room and breathing space between you and the next tent, so it never feels crowded. My children loved the space to fly their kite. I’ll admit I was a bit skeptical about the compostable toilets at first, but I was pleasantly surprised! They were incredibly clean and didn't smell at all. Plus, having access to drinking water and actual hot water for both showers and washing up made a world of difference. Jess and Charlie are fantastic hosts. They took the time to come over and check in on us to ensure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It truly is the best of both worlds: a wild, off-the-grid camping vibe, but with the luxury of a hot shower and clean facilities. We can't wait to come back!

We had an amazing time staying at Lions Row, the site was wonderful, very basic but that is all we needed, we had amazing bank holiday weather too. Communication from Charlie was top notch. Charlie sorted out some venison which we BBQ'd as per Charlie's recommendation & it was fantastic. Facilities were basic but they did what they needed to do, the site was uneven but their website clearly states it is a field.. the bird life was also fantastic, Skylarks, Red Kites & Nightingales, unfortunately we didn't hear the Nightjars. The night sky was also great for star gazing. Sutton Hoo & Woodbridge only a short drive away & well worth visiting. We will definitely be back. Thanks Charlie & team. Esta & John

Lovely campsite and farm. The management were great and very accommodating throughout our stay, and the facilities were excellent, including clean toilets and showers. It was peaceful, with some lovely walks around the farm. The venison was great, and the logs for the wood burner were much appreciated. 10/10 - we’ll definitely “carry on camping” here again. Thank you!
