Pilgrims Place

Another amazing place! Started in the gardens which were vast! Regimented lines of trees that seemed to go to infinity. Lots of apple trees. Nice shaped bushes. Two lakes one with large dark looking goldfish but probably weren't goldfish. Some lovely flowers about. In bloom too! Walked right round and then on to see the Cup and Saucer. Went the wrong way round but bumped into a couple of locals who became our guides. Witnessed a tree branch snapping in the wind and thankfully falling away from the footpath. It sounded like shouting. Saw were the castle had stood and then the Cup and Saucer itself. Turned around and the cows were coming for a drink! Walked the much shorter route back to the car park and had lunch under cover. Was amazed at the house from the servants areas to where the upper crust lived. Some unusual items. The volunteers in the various rooms were full of amazing facts which really added to what we saw. Bedrooms weren't open due to the heat but we got to see the tapestry room which isn't open very often, wow! Plenty to walk around and plenty to see. Was a real privilege to walk around the house. Will have to go back just to see the upper floors. Thank you to everyone we spoke to. You made it a great day out.

Lovely day out at Erddig. Special view from the bottom of the garden looking back at the house over the exceptionally long pool, where some very friendly fish were eager for some food bits so if you pop to the cafe, save some crumbs for them! Only suggestion is that the map of the premises is made more user friendly/easier to follow.

Went to Erddig house today, quite late on and the house was shut. However the gardens were lovely and beautifully kept, enjoyed a cream scone in the restaurant. Highly recommend a visit, but note that the house closes at 3:30pm

Lovely place for a day out. The garden is stunning. The only issue we had is that due to not enough volunteers , the upper level of the house was closed for the public. Make sure to give them a call and check before leaving, especially if you don't have a National Trust pass as it's not cheap and you might not get the full experience.
