About The Derwent Arms
Looking to be close – but not too close – to York's many attractions? The grass pitches behind this adults-only pub in Osbaldwick village offer an ideal base, with the city centre just a 30-minute stroll away or a 10-minute hop on the number 6 bus from outside the door. The Derwent Arms itself serves quality homemade food – think burgers, steak, and a popular two-course special – with vegetarian options and gluten-free bread available. Staff are particularly friendly and accommodating with dietary requirements, and the atmosphere is relaxed and dog-friendly, whether you're settling into the beer garden on a summer evening or cosying up by one of the two log burners.
Note that caravans and motorhomes must have their own facilities, as pub toilets are only accessible from noon (and both pub and restaurant close Mondays). The car park can be a bit confusing on arrival. Direct walks from the pitches make it easy to stretch legs – human and canine alike – in that bracing Yorkshire air.

What visitors say
Great pub stop. On arriving greated by landlord. There are 3 designated parking spaces. Ehu if needed. We didnt use. Good size. Probably get an 8m van in. Food very tasty. Desserts to die for. Good drinks. Very reasonable price. On main road and next to a public carpark, but quiet overnight. Just outside town so a 15min walk into Malton to visit the quaint shops. Lovely area for walks. Definitely reccomend.

First time back in Yorkshire for a long time.. the Derwent arms didn't disappoint. Lively atmosphere, very friendly staff. Food - don't expect gourmet fayre it's "pub grub" but nicely done, and fairly priced. Drinks - value for money. All in all, enjoyable

We stayed in our campervan in the carpark, food was fantastic to say the pub has had new owners for only two weeks. Staff are really friendly and very helpful. Make sure you register you reg number. Only thing for us campers, is the electric hook up has been removed buy the previous tenant, but I was assured this would be rectified in the future! Fantastic pub stopover, highly recommend.

Went to Malton to meet up with friends from Leicester. Called in as the football was on and it was dog friendly. We had our springer with us and he was given a warm welcome in the bar area with a lovely big TV screen with commentary rather than awful music ! Spacious so we weren't crowded in which is a big bonus.😂 Had food which was typical pub grub. We enjoyed our visit.
