York Meadows Caravan Park

Absolutely stunning campsite with amazingly clean facilities! We first found this little gem two years ago and have continued returning as a family ever since. The site is large enough to create a lovely atmosphere without ever feeling rowdy or overcrowded. The park is fantastic for children — our little boy quickly made friends and loved heading down to the football pitch at the far end of the site. The campsite is quiet after 10pm, making it perfect for a peaceful night’s sleep. The shower and toilet blocks are immaculate, and the pitches and surrounding grass areas are always beautifully maintained. There are plenty of waste disposal points and water taps around the site, so you’re never too far from what you need. The pitches themselves are spacious and level, which makes setting up easy. There’s also a handy on-site shop that is very well stocked in case you forget anything, including fresh bread and eggs. The wardens are always friendly, welcoming, and extremely helpful. The location is excellent too — Monks Cross and all major supermarkets are less than a 15-minute drive away. There’s also a Tesco Extra and Morrisons Daily in the next village along. York Park & Ride is around 15 minutes away, and the coast can be reached in approximately 45 minutes. There’s plenty to do in the surrounding area for both couples and families. Highly recommended!

I had a seasonal pitch at York Meadows last year and couldn’t recommend it enough. From the very first contact, everything was really smooth and easy and the team were always friendly and approachable. It’s a beautiful quiet site with great facilities - everything is well maintained and feels good quality. The showers are always nice and hot and there's never a queue. I’ve tried a few other sites in the area and you just don’t get the same level for the price. What really makes the site though is the atmosphere. The team create such a welcoming friendly environment and it genuinely makes a difference to the whole experience. Paul and Bob are a big part of that - always approachable and helping to make it feel like a really well-run and welcoming place. As well as all of the nature and wildlife! I love seeing the lil bunnies hopping around. I enjoyed it so much I even came back for the whole of March this year which probably says it all!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at York Meadows. The staff are all really lovely, helpful and around if you need them. The facilities are extremely clean and remained that way throughout our stay. The park is good for the kids and the dog walking is amazing. We walked into village to the castle a few times and stopped at the pub for a drink. Gorgeous trip! Will definitely return.

We absolutely love this place! It’s actually only half hour from home, but the kids beg to come back… best park ever apparently! It’s really well looked after; toilets and showers always really clean. We always get the fully serviced pitches just for ease. The shop is lovely and has everything you need. Would highly recommend. All the wardens are really lovely too. We will be back (again!). Thank you.
