About Premier Inn York City Blossom St North
Step into a room at Premier Inn York City Blossom St North and you get an en-suite with a comfortable bed, kettle and a shower with decent pressure, the kind of straightforward comfort that makes for an easy night's sleep. Rooms are spread across three floors served by a lift, with accessible rooms available, though a few have been noted as needing a bit more upkeep than others.
Downstairs there's a restaurant serving breakfast and other meals, plus 24 hour reception for whenever you arrive. On-site parking is available for a charge, useful given the central spot on Blossom Street.
The location is one of the hotel's strongest points, with York Station and the city walls both within easy reach, making it simple to explore the city centre on foot. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, and the surrounding area offers a pub or bar nearby along with golf, fishing, horse riding and entertainment options for those looking beyond the city walls.
What guests say
This is in a that’ll location to York train station. Maybe five minutes walk. But bad signage lead us to the one further away. The room is a typical premier inn. But upon entry to the room is was very disappointing to see the mess housekeeping was making. (See photo). Breakfast - cooked wasn’t great. They pre-cook all the eggs and all the yolks are solid hard. Tip - ask for an air con room at check in as not all rooms have them and they can get hot !!!

This place is super convenient, seriously just a stone's throw from everything. The location is a major win, making it easy to explore the whole city after taking the train. We had a really pleasant stay overall, and the amenities were pretty good. However, it's worth noting there might be a bit of a lottery with the rooms. Some might face the front road, while others face a pretty poor back alley or car park. If you're a light sleeper, you might want to request a room away from the main street. Still, for the price and location, it's a solid choice if you're lucky with your room assignment. The breakfast is standard for a Premirer Inn, although I was surprised to see that there were no labels on the food that was out, and I had to request plant-based sausages separately which wasn't even shown as an option. These took about 5 minutes to be made at which point my food was cold and in the time I waited my table was given to someone else by the staff there, even though it had the "Reserved" sign on it. Overall, a decent budget friendly option for those looking to see what York has to offer.

To preface this review, if like me you are worried about staying here because of other reviews, DO NOT be put off! I stayed in Room 1002 for 1 night (a Premier Plus room) and it was more than sufficient. The bed was comfortable, air conditioning (once I figured it out) worked brilliantly and the shower was amazing. The staff I met were also friendly and pleased to make conversation when I saw them. Bag storage was easy and reliable, and I heard no noise all night which is what you'd expect from Premier Inn. The reason I've given it 4 instead of 5 stars is not because the hotel is bad, but there were a couple of small things that needed fixing or clarifying upon arrival. First off, one of the main lights in my room was flickering so severely that I had to turn them off almost immediately. Whilst this didn't bother me at all due to having other lights, I know it would probably bother other people and possibly trigger someone with epilepsy. The other thing was the entrances and exits. Upon arrival, I went through the door on Blossom Street itself and left my bag, only to be told that I had to exit via the car park and I could not exit the same way as I came in. Later on, I realised that the door I entered previously could be unlocked with your room's key card, but no staff member made me aware of this. I feel like in future people need to be made aware that you need your key card to use that door, or for arrivals, to enter via the car park. To conclude, overall I enjoyed my 1 night stay in the hotel and felt very safe as a woman travelling alone. Please try not to let the bad reviews put you off.

Stopped here for a couple of nights on a random get-away as it was the cheapest and not too far from what we wanted to do. The room was fine, a bit dated and a bit beaten up but for somewhere to stay on a whim it did the job. A couple of issues that come up. The entrance is not on Blossom Street. It's off Queen Street and there is little or no signage on Blossom Street to tell you the reception is around the corner. We had to ask at Blossom Street South for directions. The entrance that's shown on the Premier Inn website is for the key-card doorway and not for checking in. Also the room we were allocated had two small flights of stairs as you headed down the corridor. You could tell when people were dragging luggage up and down those stairs. At the time of writing York Council are resurfacing Queen Street as part of the works in front of the train station. My advice is that if the roadworks are on and you're in a room where you can see the carpark/Queen Street ask to be moved to the other side of the hotel. It'll be a lot quieter.

Guests consistently praise this hotel for its comfortable beds and rooms, some of which include kettles and strong showers. The excellent location near both the train station and the city center is a highlight, complemented by the friendly and helpful staff.
Some reviews mention the rooms can be poorly maintained.
