About Premier Inn York City Blossom St South
A good spread of hot and cold breakfast options is one of the highlights at Premier Inn York City Blossom St South, a 100-room hotel on Blossom Street in York. There's also an on-site restaurant for evening meals, plus drinks available in the room, making it easy to eat without straying far after a day of sightseeing.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms and air conditioning, with accessible rooms available and a lift serving all four floors. Some rooms show signs of wear, but the overall stay tends to be a quiet one, with staff generally on hand around the clock at 24-hour reception. Chargeable parking is available nearby for those driving in.
The location is a strong point, within easy reach of York railway station and the city walls, putting the city centre well within walking distance. Further afield, the area offers golf, fishing and horse riding, and there are pubs and bars nearby for an evening out.
What guests say
The staff are absolutely overwhelmed at this hotel , the rooms are great , location again great . But DO NOT under any circumstances attempt to use the restaurant, we visited recently and lost an entire evening waiting to be served average food in an empty restaurant by what I'd call surly staff if I was being generous,but......none of this could have forewarned us about the carnage that was breakfast, there was no staff , no cutlery, no drinks , no clean tables in short there was nothing you would expect at a restaurant. The members of staff there were hopelessly overwhelmed with guests which I'm sure had booked and seemed to lack the experience to deal with anything tbh. If you plan to use this hotel as a base then it's great other than that just awful . To put this review into context I've stayed in 50+ premier inns from Glasgow to Hayle no where has lacked organisation like this place.

This hotel is a great place to stay in York. Conveniently next to the train station and a 15-minute walk to York Minster and other attractions in the city centre. There are plenty of pubs, breakfast places on Blossom Street, and a Sainsbury's Local within a 2-minute walk. The staff at this hotel are fantastic (especially the nice young chap at reception!), and the room I stayed in was spotlessly clean. I received emails/notifications four weeks in advance that the lift was out of service and it will take me longer to get to my room. Plenty of time and notification if I needed to move to another hotel, and change travel accommodation, etc. I was very kindly offered assistance with my luggage as I was staying on the third floor (top floor). My Premier Plus room was massive and had plenty of space! Very clean as well, and a window that I was able to open. Super comfy bed and great shower! A shame about the lift not working as many other guests voiced their concerns about having to climb stairs, but in a busy hotel like this one, these things do happen unfortunately! The staff did the best they could in this situation.

As expected from a Premier Inn, the bed was very comfortable. The room was fairly standard with an en-suite, hairdryer, and tea and coffee making facilities. Despite being on a roadside, the room was quiet, which was appreciated. The location is great for getting into the centre of York, around a 10 to 15 minute walk. The reception staff were also friendly and helpful, which made the stay even smoother.

Great location, only 5 mins walk from the train station and only 10 minutes from other sights we visited . Room was clean and had everything we needed. Staff were friendly and helpful. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. The lift was out of order however we had received a few emails in advance to let us know, wasn’t an issue for us.

Guests consistently praise this hotel for its friendly and helpful staff, quiet rooms, and convenient location near the train station and city center. They also highlight the excellent and reasonably priced breakfast, which offers a good variety of both hot and cold food options.
Some reviews mention the rooms can be poorly maintained.
