About Holiday Inn Express Aberdeen City Centre

With 155 rooms tucked just off Chapel Street, Holiday Inn Express Aberdeen City Centre is built for guests who want to be within easy reach of the city without fuss. Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, drinks facilities, and options for families or those needing accessible accommodation, though some rooms show their age rather than feeling freshly refurbished.

A restaurant, bar and snack bar cover meals and drinks on site, and breakfast is served with a wide enough spread to suit most tastes. Practical extras include a lift, laundry service, luggage storage and meeting rooms, useful for business trips as well as leisure stays, and pets are welcome. On-site parking is available, though it comes at an extra charge.

The central location puts guests close to pubs, restaurants and entertainment nearby, with a golf course also within reach for those wanting to fit in a round. Staff are generally helpful and the rooms are kept clean, though service can be a little inconsistent at busier times. It's a straightforward base for exploring Aberdeen city centre.

My wife and I stayed in the Holiday Inn Express in Feb 2026, while visiting family. Fantastic value for money. The staff were great, and arranged for our daughter to be in the next door room when she arrived for a single night at the end of our stay. The hotel was spotless and the room was a decent size. Quiet stay throughout, other than the usual hotel noise as people head to their rooms. There's a Wetherspoons two minutes away if you're eating/drinkinh on a budget. The included breakfast was good.

For a budget hotel this will be fine. Rooms were clean and some things were provided. I would have liked more tea bags as there were 4 of us in the room but only 2 bags were provided. We could have gotten more from reception but after a long day, you dont really want to be traipsing up and down to get tea bags. Breakfast buffet was ok too, good selection. The food is as to be expected for a 3star hotel. Staff were also ok, not massively welcoming or friendly but there to do a job. Location was good, in city so easy to get to lots of places. Not much parking though so we were lucky to get a space.

So initial we were placed in a room on first floor which smelled like fish and the view was a wall which was really not nice. Since we were staying for multiple days and the smell was intense we asked if there are any other rooms and they gave us a top floor room which was completely different and so much better. The fact that the price is the same for these two rooms made me feel a bit confused on the review. The first room would have made our experience quite sad but the second room made it so much better. The breakfast was lacking fresh food with no oats, not much fruits or fresh dishes. Sadly we only ate the yoghurt and coffee but for the price it was good. The location is good and overall had a good experience!

Great location, such friendly and helpful staff who all have a wonderful manner and pleasant attitude that are happy to assist! Breakfast is a good spread with plenty of options for everyone ☺️ Clean rooms, attentive housekeeping, however some of the rooms are run down in parts which isn't great but also doesn't stop a perfectly good stay. Central location and good pricing. No bad noise from anywhere, including no noisy air con system, so peaceful too. They've a nice selection of food and convenience snacks along with business room and lounge areas. Delicious coffee, so overall 9/10 and would recommend ⭐ thank you!
