About Garvock House Hotel

Garvock House Hotel occupies a 200-year-old country house set in over two acres of landscaped gardens on an elevated site overlooking Dunfermline, around eight miles from Aberdour. Family-owned and run with a strong emphasis on personal service, it has built a loyal following among visitors looking for boutique comfort with genuine period character rather than a larger, more corporate hotel.

The house's bedrooms are individually furnished and generously proportioned, and the hotel's restaurant, set in an oak-panelled dining room with garden views, serves a seasonal Scottish menu that draws diners from well beyond hotel guests. Extensive gardens surround the property and are used for terrace dining through the summer months, and the hotel also operates as a wedding and events venue.

Its position above Dunfermline gives easy access both to the town's own historic centre, including Dunfermline Abbey and the ruins of the royal palace, and to Aberdour and the Fife coast a short drive away, making it a comfortable, dog-friendly base for a longer Fife stay.

We've been lucky enough to live near the Garvock since it opened almost 30 years ago and celebrated our own 30th anniversary there last night and the food and service were excellent once again. I very rarely leave reviews but Garvock has managed to maintain the highest of standards throughout those years and made our night feel even more special.

Have stayed here previously but today came for breakfast to celebrate my wife's birthday. It was fantastic, the food was really good and the staff were better. After breakfast they brought a small cake with a candle and sung happy birthday 🎂. It made a special occasion absolutely memorable.

Absolutely the best! The staff will whisk you away in five-star service from the second you arrive. The rooms are lush and roomy...the bar area is fabulous, intimate, warm yet professional with many business people, locals and a few tourists thrown in. The FOOD and servers are the most exceptional I've experienced. Everything is beyond clean and the grounds are gorgeous. They even have face-cloths in the bath! There's nothing like this anywhere else. Don't miss it!
