What visitors say
32£ ‘montly. You realise when something get broken, can be months to be fixed. Males fitting room had several leaks like month ago and you need to use the swimming pool facilities, always overcrowded by lot of parents taking their children to swimming. They wait in the absolute middle of the corridor without not spaces, and make me feel uncomfortable too. Main gym from 15 to 19h is almost impossible to use because at 15 are coming like 30 kids (I bet they have some discount) and definitely is not such big having almost 1 of each machine plus 4 regular benches. If you can come to swimming pool like midday is ok, weekends almost too busy to be used neither. *pictures are blurry due probably most of the users are under 18.

Is anyone going to step up and take this place by the reigns and make it better? Constantly something is broken or there’s limited access. Most of the staff are grand but we all know the ladies who have serious attitude at reception, when you question anything, that you have the right to question. Yet they continue to get away with his poor attitude and customer service. Swimming timetable in the evenings is terrible, all geared towards the swim clubs. I appreciate it’s about money. But the whole philosophy behind Carnegie was “for all”. This is lost. The upkeep is lost. Takes them to change a lightbulb and when they do you can guarantee the jacuzzi is off for a week, or the steam room. Any upgrades that do take place happen over months not in quick time frames as it should. Needs a serious management team who are proactive about turning this into an actual leisure centre not a half hearted one. Big changes need made or someone needs to take over a large premises and offer a proper set of facilities to the city. Highly do not recommend on the basis of the above. You’d be far better off elsewhere, problem is the other options are very limited. Whilst issues with this one, we use a recently renovated location all to find it’s already falling apart and not really fit for purpose.

Great place to stay active, keep fit, and meet friendly people. I enjoy different classes available - from yoga to HYROX and body conditioning. There is a good mix of challenge and energy, which makes it easier to stay consistent and actually enjoy the process. For me, it is not just about exercise, but also about building strength, routine, and a better mindset.

My wife and I visited Carnegie Leisure Centre today to enquire about membership. We had plenty of questions and, honestly, weren't fully committed to signing up. Then we met Vicky — and everything changed. Vicky was outstanding. She handled every single question we threw at her with informative, intelligent answers delivered with a warmth and brightness that instantly put us at ease. There was no hard sell, no scripted patter — just genuine enthusiasm to help us, backed by real knowledge of the facilities. She made the whole process feel effortless, and her energy was infectious. By the time we'd finished chatting, signing up for memberships felt like the most natural decision in the world. Vicky is exactly the person you want as the face of your business. She turned our enquiries into membership not through pressure, but through friendliness, personality, knowledge, and exceptional people skills. Management — please take note and appreciate her appropriately! Vicky should be in charge of training all customer facing staff, her skills are not something you can just hire.
