About Ben Lawers Hotel

Five Munros surround Ben Lawers Hotel, a stone-built property on Loch Tay near Aberfeldy in Perthshire. That setting is the main draw here, with hillwalking and loch views on the doorstep and easy access into Aberfeldy itself for anyone wanting a change of scene.

Rooms come with air conditioning, drinks available in-room, and the usual comforts expected of a hotel of this size, with a lift for convenience and luggage storage for those arriving before or leaving after check-in times. The restaurant serves simple food sourced from Scottish farmland, backed up by a bar and snack bar, and there's a garden for relaxing outdoors. Guests can also make use of an indoor swimming pool, gym, and spa or sauna, while meeting rooms and business services suit those combining a stay with work. The hotel also operates as a wedding venue.

Free on-site parking is provided, and pets are welcome. Beyond the hotel, the surrounding area offers pubs, restaurants and entertainment nearby, making it a reasonable base for exploring Loch Tay and the wider Aberfeldy area on foot or by car.

We parked at the hotel so that we could climb the Munros across the road and returned to the car at 8.45 pm expecting that the hotel would have stopped serving food. However, when we went in to pay for parking all day (£5) we were advised that they were serving food until 9.00 pm. The young man who was working front of house was very welcoming and offered to get some water for our dogs. We were given time to look at the menu, which given the time of our arrival was much appreciated. The food was very tasty (chicken tikka masala and fish and chips) and just what we needed after a long day on the hills. Thank you so much for making 2 tired hillwalkers and their dogs feel welcome.

Great location for accessing the surrounding hills, or using it as base to go out even further. Very comfortable rooms which were spacious and well kept. The food from the restaurant was amazing as it was proper homemade. The 2 staff colleagues we kept interacting with, were incredibly friendly with great knowledge of the local area. We stayed here in June for the Glen Lyon Ultra, and we'll definitely be returning here next year too.

Had problem with our car on NYE, right outside what looked a welcoming pub/hotel. Sadly turned out not the case, on asking presumably the owner if we could come in for hot drinks/food we were told they weren’t open until 5:30pm, and they “couldn’t help”. It was -3 degrees and dropping, and they were prepared to leave us outside with no access to food, drinks or WC. After a wonderful stay a few miles up the road, it’s a shame our experience of this hotel was so poor.

Stayed here for one night with my wife and our dog. We were made to feel very welcome on arrival we sat with a coffee and took in the amazing views around the hotel. Later that evening we had dinner which was absolutely delicious and to my surprise it was all home made. We sat on the decking with a couple of drinks and took in the scenery. Rooms were very well kept and clean bathroom was filled with little shower gels and shampoos which was great as we forgot to pack them. We had breakfast in the morning which was a full scottish breakfast which yet again was delicious. I will 100% be coming back to stay here the atmosphere was brilliant. I'm a motorbiker and usually just drive past this place. Not now this will be my new local place to stop for a rest. This hotel also offers a takeaway menu and a place to camp. Fantastic idea.
