About Boreland Loch Tay

Aberfeldy sits amid the hills and glens of Perth and Kinross, with Loch Tay close by and the Famous Grouse Distillery among the local points of interest. It's in this setting that Boreland Loch Tay makes its home, at Dalcharian Fearnan, a spot chosen by many for weddings and celebrations thanks to its open mountain views.

Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, drinks in room and family options for those travelling in groups, while the grounds include a garden, picnic area and outdoor seating for making the most of the scenery. Fire pits and hot tubs are among the standout facilities, and there are meeting rooms for those combining a stay with events. That said, some parts of the accommodation have been noted as needing better upkeep, so it's worth bearing in mind alongside the setting and facilities.

A kitchen, free WiFi, 24 hour reception and luggage storage cover the practical side of a stay, with free on-site parking making arrival straightforward. Pubs, restaurants and other eateries are all nearby, along with further entertainment options, making it easy to fill the evenings after a day exploring the Loch Tay countryside.

What can I say about Boreland Loch Tay other than it was spectacular. My Daughter & Son in Law got married there on the 1st of July 2026. They hired Boreland from the 29th of June until the 3rd of July. From the minute we arrived until the time we left the staff were excellent. Anything we needed they were on hand to supply or fix for us. NIALL I just want to say was an amazing you man, helpful, funny, polite, and nothing was too much trouble to him. He did it all with a smile on his face. On the 30th June & 1st July their were 200 guest at the pre wedding & wedding day. Everyone had an amazing time and xould believe the location. Their were a lot of guests from England, America& elsewhere and they all said the same, how amazing the venue was!!! We were boatng & paddle boarding on the loch as well as walking & touring around the area... I suppose my only criticism was in the lodges, the blinds were broken to a degree but could still be used. Other than that I had no other complaint. This is a very well used resort so i'm sure their are always going to be mantainance issues. The whole 4 day event was organised by my daughter and went exactly too plan which was amazing in itself....

What an incredible team and venue! We got married in May 2026 and the experience from start to finish was incredible. Emily was our contact for all the preparations and she was excellent to work with. The experience and communication guided us through the whole process as we customised the weekend. Everything we discussed, she, Niall, and the amazing team at Boreland put it into action without us having to give it a second thought. As for the wedding, getting married on the hill overlooking Loch Tay was perfect and the event space is beautiful and needed very little additions. A few other points that helped make our day, the accommadtion was excellent being close by but also nicely individual, clean and modern. The wine and bar selection was excellent, as wine lovers we were't disappointed. One thing that really made the weekend was having the accommodation and the fire pit on the Friday before the wedding so we could host all of our arriving family and friends for a BBQ to settle them all in. It really settled us and our guests in so we could relax and enjoy the big day for what it was. Everyone's wedding day is an incredible day but we couldn't image getting married anywhere else. We can't reccommend Boreland highly enough. Jamie and Kat Jordan

We got married at Boreland in May 2026 and had an amazing experience from start to finish. The staff were fantastic throughout. Always happy to help and genuinely went above and beyond, while still giving us the freedom to get on with things ourselves. We were particularly impressed with the effort the team put into preparing the farmhouse after previous guests had left it in a poor state. Everything was spotless and we couldn't fault it. The venue itself is stunning. We had hoped to get married outside, but although it was a dry day, it was incredibly windy. We ended up having our ceremony in the Workshop and the views were still absolutely incredible. Our guests have all commented on how much they loved the venue, from the friendly staff and smooth flow of the day to the accommodation and breathtaking scenery. Being able to celebrate over two days thanks to the Cowshed made the whole experience even more special, and the fire pits added a lovely atmosphere and extra personality to the evening. We couldn't have asked for a better venue and would highly recommend Boreland to any couple planning their wedding. We wouldn’t have changed a thing and had the best time celebrating with family and friend! Thanks Boreland team! Emily and Mitchell

If you’re looking for a wedding venue with incredible scenery, great service and something a little bit different, Boreland Loch Tay is it. We got married there in June 2026 and had the best experience from booking right through to the wedding itself. The booking process was straightforward, with clear pricing and good communication throughout. Emily was brilliant and kept in touch regularly in the lead up to the wedding, which made everything feel so much more organised without it ever becoming overwhelming. We were also given a list of recommended suppliers, which was really helpful when trying to work out who to book. We chose Wild & Smoky for the food and they were absolutely outstanding. People are still talking about it, which I think says everything. The venue itself is stunning. The views over Loch Tay are unreal, the setting feels completely unique and having so many of our guests staying on site was lovely. A few other reviews have mentioned the fire pit in the Cow Shed the night before - what a nice touch! We kept ours really simple with drinks and no food, but it gave everyone the chance to arrive, catch up, relax and get into wedding mode before the day itself. It was one of those small things that ended up making a big difference. A special shout out has to go to Niall, who was genuinely one of the most helpful and sound people we dealt with. Nothing seemed to faze him, no request was too much trouble and he quietly kept everything moving on the day and the night before. Exactly the kind of person you want around when your brain has left the chat and you're trying to remember where you put absolutely everything. (He even printed out extra table names for me when I thought I'd left them at home, I hadn't, they just were in a bag I forgot about in the room!) The only thing I would mention is the accommodation. Boreland can sleep up to 70 guests on site (from memory), but it's definitely worth checking the individual room layouts carefully. Some rooms include bunk beds and are designed to sleep four people, which may be perfect for families or groups of friends, but perhaps less ideal if your adult guests are not keen on bunking in together. We only had 52 people in total, so it didn't impact us but worth thinking about if your guest list is bigger. That said, the rooms were clean, comfortable and genuinely lovely with good on site cooking facilities if needed. Overall, we had an amazing wedding and would recommend Boreland Loch Tay without hesitation. The setting is beautiful, the team were excellent and we couldn't have picked a better place for our day. Thank you!
