Cruachan Farm Caravan and Camping Park

Stayed in one of the 2 person glamping pods for a week. The single beds were slightly on the narrow side, but apart from that it was a great pod. Handy having the heater (despite being small it's powerful and really warm which was great as it was a soggy week), as well as some cooking facilities inside. Pretty good amount of space to put my stuff. The shower and toilet block was not bad. Probably not enough showers and toilets if the Site was at full capacity (2 of each in both blocks), and the shower cubicles especially could do with a bit of a revamp (bits of mould round the edges). But the showers had pretty decent power and warmed up well. Handy having 2 taps on the Site to get water for my stay. There is 1 washing machine (£3.50) and 1 dryer (£2) to use in one of the shower / toilet blocks (cash payments only) but didnt do any laundry whilst there.

Camped here for 4 nights. The people I spoke to were all nice. The frequently mentioned water situation wasn't a big problem as water was available on tap at reception which wasn't that far to walk along the path. The low marks are for the entire site being sloped, even the bits that looked flat were sloped, and the toilet block was pretty unpleasant. The cleaner was coming frequently so it wasn't for lack of trying. It's just the building was so old, dead flies stuck to stalls. Only 2 toilets (in the ladies at least) so they got a lot of use when the site got busy. Considering how nicely kept the neighbouring site is kept it felt a like the poor cousin.

We stayed in a little camping pod. It had everything we needed: a soaf bed, plates, cups, cutlery, washing-up things, a little fridge with ice compartment, kettle, microwave, toaster. Would advise taking own gas stove, pans and bedding. We went for 5 nights, really enjoyed our stay, would go back and would recommend the site. Before we went we were concerned with some negative reviews but really wasn't a problem not sure what some people expect from a camping site. 1.) Communal showers dated. Yes but who cares you're camping! The facilities are more than adequate, clean toilets and showers especially if everyone does their bit, follow instructions and leave it clean for next person. 2.) Contaminated water, this is an expected issue with camping sites on farms, near rivers or Loch's during the rainy season. The site did give us water bottles on arrival and could refill them from a local tap so again really not an issue and I'd expect to go collect water when camping 😁

We recently stayed here as a family of 4 when we were coveting the highlands. We were told we needed to take bedding us and had to cram in our boot of the car and take out other things as we didn’t have a lot of room for there to be bedding in the caravan which was annoying. Our son’s bedding had a urine stain on it that we didn’t notice till our last day. The caravan was very old and tires looking and not very clean with the shower being the worst and dead flies on windowsills. The grill didn’t work in the oven. We didn’t have drinking water coming from the tap so had to buy from shops in bulk and refill on a tiny tap at reception. We also tried several times to book the restaurant for our evening meal my husband tried many times to call and email and we did not get an answer to either. The only good thing I will say is it is very well situated for what we wanted. Will not be back though because of our complaints.
