About The Inn on Loch Lomond

Generous, satisfying plates and a well-stocked bar are a highlight at The Inn on Loch Lomond, an inn at Inverbeg on the shores of the loch itself. The restaurant looks straight out towards Ben Lomond, and the kitchen's portions have earned a reputation for being far from mean, with breakfast served each morning to set guests up for a day exploring The Trossachs National Park.

The 33 rooms are kept spotless and comfortable, and many guests come simply for the scenery framed in the window. Facilities extend to a garden, meeting rooms, laundry service and a lift, while porters and concierge staff are on hand for anything guests need, though service can be a little inconsistent at busier times. Dogs are genuinely welcome here, right down to a special breakfast for four-legged guests.

Free on-site parking makes it an easy stop for those touring the loch and surrounding hills, and the hotel also does duty as a wedding venue for anyone wanting Loch Lomond as a backdrop. It's a straightforward, well-fed base for taking in the water and the mountains beyond.

This place is a tourist trap - Junior Suite in a "four star" hotel with no blackout provision in the bedroom, and the hotel considers this acceptable. Sunrise at this location on 14 June is approximately 4:28am BST. The room was flooded with full daylight. I could not sleep in the bedroom and moved to the sofa in the lounge section of the suite. The lounge has full blackout curtains the bedroom has paper blinds. That is genuinely difficult to explain. Loch Lomond in June experiences only 3 to 4 hours of complete darkness. The sky begins to lighten well before 4am and does not fully darken until after 10:30pm. Blackout should be an absolute necessity especially for a "four star" hotel lol, absolute joke. The towels also had an unpleasant odour, almost as if it had been previously used. I raised this separately in the complaint and although noted it was not accepted by the hotel. Due to not being able to sleep and dirty towels I would not recommend this hotel at all. Keep driving Loch Lomond has much more to offer.

We had a lovely one night stay here. We had a warm welcome from the person on reception. Our room was large very clean with a large comfortable bed. Our evening meal was all delicious. It took a while but that means it was freshly cooked so I prefer this to fast food! Our fabulous barman Kier was friendly and extremely helpful in assisting us tonmake good beer decisions! I would recommend a stay here.

Had a wonderful stay here. Every member of staff was lovely and made you feel so welcome. The room was spotless and we were very fortunate to have a spectacular view. The food was amazing! I had the steak pie and the meat just melted in your mouth! My other half had the Chicken Burger which he said was delicious. Sticky toffee pudding and raspberry pavlova for dessert and they were both to die for! Breakfast was also amazing with a great choice! Would highly recommend. Hopefully we'll be back soon!

My family came for dinner one evening and it was great. Our seats had a great view of the loch. I had the haggis which was really good. My wife had the veggie haggis which she loved. The service was great. Our server let the kids mix and match different things from the menu with no issue. We didn't stay so I can't comment on the rooms.
