Strathcashel Cottage
Stirling
Strathcashel Cottage is a single-storey house built into woodland on the Loch Lomond shoreline, about 5 minutes' walk from the water's edge. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms mean there's room for six people to spread out, with a super king in the master (ensuite), a zip-and-link super king in the second bedroom that can split into singles, and two further singles in the third. Everything sits on ground level, which suits families and those preferring to avoid stairs.
The heart of the place is a combined living and dining space with a woodburner and views across to the water. A separate sun room also looks towards the loch, and there's a proper kitchen with electric oven, hob, dishwasher and all the usual appliances for self-catering. Heating comes from an air source system, and essentials like electricity, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are covered. The enclosed garden has direct access to a small pebble beach, making it genuinely unusual among holiday rentals in the area. Car parking and a bike store are on site, along with an electric charging point.
Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park surrounds the property, with Ben Lomond visible from several rooms. The West Highland Way passes nearby, and Balmaha village—2 miles away—has a pub, restaurant and local shop, plus a waterbus to Inchcailloch Island and a route up Conic Hill. Water sports, golf and fishing are available locally. One pet is welcome free of charge, though smoking is not permitted.
