The hotel itself is a manageable size, with a lift for those who'd rather skip the stairs and a garden for stepping outside.
Downstairs, the restaurant and bar are a genuine draw, with a reputation for tasty, fairly priced food and Sunday roasts that regulars come back for. Breakfast is served on-site, and there's a gym for guests who want to keep up a routine while away. The property also handles luggage storage, porter and concierge services, and free on-site parking, which makes arriving by car straightforward. Staff are generally friendly and helpful, though service has occasionally been described as inconsistent.
Almondsbury sits within easy reach of Bristol, and the hotel doubles as a wedding venue for those planning an occasion locally. Nearby pubs, restaurants and entertainment options give guests plenty of choice beyond the hotel's own restaurant, while Clevedon Golf Club offers a diversion for those wanting to get out and about.
What guests say
Came here the other night to watch the World Cup Final with a friend and our kids. Very smart pub, with lovely staff - new owners, I understand, who were dealing with a LOT of teething problems after what they inherited from the last people. But they couldn't have been friendlier and made us very welcome. Hope they make a go of it. No doubt we'll be back next time we're camping up the road.

We visited as a large group, and overall it was a bit of a mixed experience. The food, unfortunately, wasn’t the highlight. It was edible, but fairly average and didn’t quite meet expectations in terms of quality or taste after being told it was good food. That said, it was served in a reasonable time considering the size of our group. What really stood out in a positive way was the young staff. They were fantastic—friendly, patient, and incredibly accommodating despite having to manage a large number of us at once. Their attitude made a big difference and helped keep things running smoothly. However, the experience was let down somewhat by the manager. They came across as quite unfriendly and didn’t seem pleased to have a large group in, which was surprising given we were all paying customers. There were a few comments that felt unnecessary and came across as rude, which put a bit of a dampener on things. Overall, while the staff did a great job under pressure, improvements in food quality and a more welcoming approach from management would really elevate the experience.

We went for a evening meal and it was really nice. The manager was really friendly and very helpful. The food was delicious and we were made to feel very welcome. If we are in this area again we will definitely visit again.

Did the job for us. We were just looking for inexpensive digs as we had come down from Scotland for a funeral. Room was basic but fine Drinks and food were az expected given the price range. No complaints from either me or my wife. Thank you for a hassle free stopover. 😀
