The Play village

We actually came across this place by chance, and what a great find it turned out to be! The concept is brilliant — a mini play village where kids can explore places like a shop, hairdressers, and even a fire station. Such a fun and imaginative idea. Booking was really straightforward, and the 2-hour session felt like plenty of time. When we arrived, we were greeted by a staff member who explained the play rules clearly and let everyone know when it was time to start. Once ready, all the children (and a few adults!) sat together while she led some fun warm-up activities before letting them loose to explore. Our two kids absolutely loved it. They had a great time pretending in the shop and the vets, but the fire station was definitely their favourite! It was also really nice to have a café on-site where you can still keep an eye on your children. The coffee was very good, and the food was decent too. We opted for the “Little Villagers Lunchbox” at £5.95, which felt like great value. We’re already looking forward to coming back soon — especially with the added bonus of a loyalty card, which is a nice touch.

We had another lovely visit here as always. We attended the Saturday 3:30pm session as my daughter finds large groups of children and lots of noise overwhelming, and this turned out to be the perfect quieter session for us. One suggestion I would make is to consider advertising this session as having a limited number of spaces. This could help create a more comfortable environment for children with Autism or SEN, giving them a bit more space and making the experience more enjoyable.

We hosted our daughter’s 5th birthday party at Ashbourne Play Village and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The booking process was so easy from start to finish, and the team took care of everything for us. The decorations were beautiful, the food was lovely, and the whole atmosphere was calm and enjoyable for both the kids and adults. What really exceeded my expectations was during pass the parcel, when I suddenly realised I hadn’t brought any vegan treats for one of our guests. Without me even mentioning it, a lovely member of staff came over and handed me a vegan chocolate, saying they had noticed. That thoughtful gesture meant so much and showed how attentive and caring the staff are. They truly couldn’t have made the experience any better. Everyone had such a wonderful time, and the children absolutely loved it. I would definitely recommend Ashbourne Play Village to anyone planning a birthday party. Thank you so much for making our daughter’s day so special!

We absolutely love The Play Village! My kids adore it and we’ve been so many times now, yet it never gets old. There’s so much to do and explore that 2 hours is honestly not enough — they’re always disappointed when it’s time to leave! The attention to detail is brilliant and the staff are always so pleasant and welcoming. We could easily spend a whole day there. It’s one of our favourite places to go and we’ll definitely keep coming back.
