About Appin Bay View

Appin Bay View sits high above the surrounding countryside, with the loch stretching out below and hills rising on every side. The setting is quiet and rural, well away from any main road, and the outlook from the property takes in both water and mountains, making it a restful base for exploring this part of Argyll and Bute.

Rooms are simple and comfortable, each with an en-suite bathroom, and family rooms are available for those travelling in a group. A balcony gives guests the chance to take in the loch and mountain views at leisure, while the garden, picnic area and outdoor seating offer further spots to sit outside. Breakfast is included, packed lunches can be arranged, and drinks can be brought to the room. The bridal suite and wedding facilities make this a option for small celebrations as well as overnight stays, and free on-site parking is provided throughout.

The surrounding area suits walkers and cyclists, with fishing, horse riding and watersports all available nearby, and a pub, restaurant and other eateries within easy reach for evenings out. The overall feel is low-key rather than grand, a straightforward guesthouse whose main asset is the view from its own hilltop position.

A great place, great host and great location. Mike was brilliant from arrival til check out. He cooked a great Asian breakfast and even was our local taxi driver for the night taking us and collecting us from the local pub, the Creagan Inn. We also love the Old Inn which is a two-minute walk from the house. A great few days with some lovely scenery. We’ll be back! Good luck with the future refurb, Mike.

We stayed for three nights at Appin Bay View. Everything was perfect, and I could not fault this wonderful guesthouse. We were greeted by Mike - and had never met a host more engaging. His knowledge, generosity and humour are monumental (and his music playlist to accompany breakfast well thought-out and spot-on)! But the most striking feature of the Appin Bay View is its setting above Loch Linnhe and the small but beautiful Castle Stalker. The breakfast room and veranda look straight out onto this view. Our room was perfect - large, comfortable, plenty of storage space and a great shower. Highly recommended.

We had the most magical stay at Appin Bay View! The property was gorgeous and the view from our room was incredible. The room was spacious and clean. The breakfast was delicious. The owner was so lovely and welcoming - he even went above and beyond making a dinner reservation for us and providing recommendations for our stay! The location was wonderful - close to Glencoe and many other lovely little towns/hikes/restaurants. I can’t speak more highly of this place!!

Mike, the owner is amazing. Nothing was too much trouble! Our room was huge with the most amazing views over the bay. Breakfast was delicious, especially the Asian breakfast. This was definitely the highlight of our recent trip to Scotland.
