About Oban Camping and Caravanning Club Site
This Camping and Caravanning Club site sits in a sheltered, walled location at Barcaldine, tucked into Sutherland's Grove forest close to Loch Creran's shores, around twelve miles north of Oban. The 75 pitches—grass with or without hook-up, hardstanding for larger units, and a trailer tent section—benefit from good natural wind protection, though some visitors note the site can feel a little dated in places despite recent facilities refurbishment. Modern shower blocks, an accessible room, parent-and-baby facilities, motorhome service point and laundry cater well for longer stays, and there's a small shop for essentials plus free Wi-Fi. A dedicated dog-walking area suits the many touring with pets, but beware the 3.4-metre height restriction at the entrance.
The forest setting offers waymarked trails straight from your pitch, and Glasgow–Oban buses stop nearby. Oban's ferry terminal, distillery and seafood restaurants are a short drive south, making this a practical base for both the town and the quieter Benderloch coastline. Open late March to late October.

Very lovely site, clean and tidy. Grass was well kept. It is enclosed in a walled garden. If you need to get an early ferry, or are back late, you need to park outside of the camp as the gates are locked from 2300-0700. We were stuck in, running short of time for our ferry, tried calling the emergency out of hours number but got no response. Ablution block was spotless and well maintained If you want a peaceful site, then this is for you. Small shop selling some bits and bobs, but the world famous Pink shop is only a few miles away

Lovely small club site in a beautiful setting of a walled garden. Great location with a ycle track on one side and forest walks with plenty of interest on the other. Suitable for all abilities. Across the road and just a few minutes walk the shores of Loch Creran are reached.

A friendly and cosy campsite enclosed in a beautiful wall with lots of birds and trees. Good facilities kept to a high standard - toilets, showers, washing, laundry.

It's a decent enough site - set within walled gardens, on a kind of circular shape with central toilet/shower block and a little (tiny) shop as you enter. The hosts were welcoming - eventually - upon arrival. The primary issue is the location. To call this Oban is Pinocchio-esque. It's a good 20 minute drive into Oban. There's a couple of wooded walks from the campsite, other than that, nothing around.
