What a lovely wee find, in Port Appin. Gorgeous views over to Lismore and Loch Linnhe. We were really happy with our room, which again made the most of the view to the lighthouse and beyond. Could never get tired looking at it. Choose Room 2 ( if you are okay with stairs) . Katie the manageress was awesome, very welcoming, and everywhere doing everything. Great value for money, and the breakfast was really tasty.

Lovely boutique hotel. The room was spacious, quiet and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were great and the restaurant serves very nice food in the evening. The only reason I have not given 5 stars was (1) our room overlooked the car park at the side of the hotel and not the loch at the front and (2) we felt it was a little overpriced because of that. Thank you for a lovely comfortable stay.

Port Appin is a lovely area, and my partner and I were looking forward to exploring the surrounding areas during our stay. We drove 3.5 hours, walked around for an hour and then checked in at 4pm, by 4.10pm we had checked out as we were disappointed with the hygiene in the room of The Airds Hotel and had to face another 3.5 hour drive home. Over the past week I’ve contacted the manager to discuss but we can’t come to an agreement on the matter. The room cost £230 for the evening, we have now lost that as the manager is unwilling to give any form of reimbursement. I would therefor advise against staying at this hotel. I never usually leave negative reviews, but I have publicly discussed this hotel on my social media to avoid any further disappointment for those hoping to have a lovely overnight. Really disappointing.

The Airds Hotel in Port Appin was a fantastic place to start our road trip of the Scottish Highlands. Using The Airds as a base for our 3 night stay perfectly positioned us for exploring the area and getting ready to head further North a few days later. The Airds Hotel offers a nice blend of modern and traditional with a warm and friendly welcome by all the staff. There is an ample carpark to the rear of the hotel which also has a range of electric charging points. Inside the hotel is well presented with a nice dining area and separate cosy bar and lounge/snug room. Our room itself was very big which was quite refreshing compared to most hotels. A large bedroom area, a large bathroom and then an equally large lounge area helped make our stay very comfortable. Our stay at The Airds was very good and if you are looking to explore this part of Scotland then this could be the perfect base just for you. A few minutes walk down the road is the passenger ferry to the Isle of Lismore and also, a spot of island hopping to the likes of Mull and beyond should you desire. In the opposite direction is the famous Stalker Castle which is also a fantastic landmark to see. A great hotel and not one to be overlooked.
