Achabeg works well for couples or small families wanting a proper break on the Argyll coast. The cottage has two bedrooms – one with a kingsize bed, one with two singles – and three bathrooms, so there's space to spread out. Everything you need for self-catering is here: a full kitchen with dishwasher and tumble dryer, a woodburner for cooler evenings, and a balcony with views across the hills toward Loch Sween and the Isle of Jura. Bed linen and wi-fi are included; oil central heating keeps things warm. There's parking for two cars on site and a garden with a terrace and barbecue.
The location is the real draw. Loch Sween is minutes away for sailing and fishing, and the hamlet of Inverlussa sits within easy reach of way-marked walks through local woodland. Crinan's working harbour village lies 5 miles off, good for an afternoon exploring; the canal tow path is pleasant for walking and cycling. Lochgilphead, with shops and pubs, is a 20-minute drive. Day trips to islands like Gigha and Arran are accessible from here. Note that the property has a private water supply, there are drops in the grounds, and children under 6 are not suitable. One dog is welcome. No smoking indoors.
