About Stonefield Castle Hotel

The waters of Loch Fyne stretch out below Stonefield Castle Hotel, with the surrounding grounds running down through woodland to waterfalls and a shoreline beach. Tarbert sits nearby in Argyll and Bute, but much of the appeal here is the estate itself, criss-crossed with walking paths that make the most of the loch views from almost every angle.

The hotel has 32 rooms, and facilities extend well beyond a bed for the night: there's an indoor swimming pool, gym, spa and sauna, plus a bar known for its wide selection of whiskies. The restaurant turns out well-regarded breakfasts and burgers, and staff throughout the hotel are consistently described as attentive and professional. Rooms come with drinks provided, and practical extras such as porter and concierge services, laundry, and free WiFi are all on hand.

Free on-site parking makes exploring the wider area straightforward, and the hotel also works as a wedding venue for those wanting the loch and grounds as a backdrop. Pets are welcome too, so a family break or a quiet stay with a dog in tow are equally catered for. Beyond the grounds, Tarbert itself is close by for anyone wanting to venture further afield.

Stayed here for 1 night with our 2 dogs who were made most welcome on arrival with a dog bowl at the entrance and a huge dog treat biscuit each in the room. Ours had a 4 poster bed and view of the car park ark/ garden and our kids room had 2 single beds and a sea view. We never ate there but the view from the restaurant looked amazing. We did explore the grounds which were very well maintained until the midges got the better of us. Bar prices were very acceptable. Would I stay again? Most definitely x0

Not to be missed Scottish Castle stay experience. Highly recommended, the dining room is spectacular and the food delicious and very generously served! Great bar too, superb scenery go hiking within the castle grounds. Hospitality at its best. That was my second visit (first one was 25 years ago)... already looking forward to the next one.

We have just had a 2 night Bed & Breakfast stay at Stonefield Castle Hotel. The hotel was just lovely and full of history. We had a nice walk in the beautiful gardens. The food was amazing we had Dinner both nights. The staff were great especially the Australian chap in the Dining room but we did not get his name. The Reception staff were superb and made us very welcome. We will definitely return for another stay and hopefully it will be soon. Janice & Stephen Laird.

What a fabulous place to stay. The views are lovely, and various paths through the grounds provide a very nice setting. All staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. I have to say that the evening dining staff in particular were hands down the best service team I have ever encountered, and I've eaten out a few times! They were completely professional, efficient, very welcoming, and really went out of their way to make sure you were comfortable. Really lovely people, and extremely well trained. Will stay longer next time.
