Chestnut Cottage is a single-storey cottage at Auchendennan farm, near Alexandria in Argyll and Bute. The property sleeps two in one bedroom and has its own bathroom. You get the place to yourself, with parking on site and a pub within a mile. WiFi, bed linen, towels and electricity are all included; there is no smoking inside.
The cottage sits within reach of Loch Lomond and its oak woodland, where summer brings redstarts, pied flycatchers and wood warblers, with ospreys visiting the water itself. The area supports golden eagles in the higher ground nearby, and fallow deer move through the trees. Sailing, water-skiing, canoeing and fishing all happen on or around the loch and nearby rivers. If you travel with a dog, it can come with you.

We had a great time here at the lodge as a group of 6 good friends. We had a hot tub and a sauna for our use while there. The house was a great size and clean throughout..3 bedrooms and bathrooms so no fighting to get there first 😁. There were a few little things that maybe need updated but would certainly go back there.

We just loved staying at Auchendennan. The self catering units were just fab. We took our two beardies and they just loved staying there. We would certainly want to stay there again.

We recently had ferry issues while trying to leave Islay, which left us stranded late at night with no where to go. We rang other places but no one wanted to help because of the lateness and also because we only needed 1 night. We rang here and explained our predicament and they came to our aid instantly. We were given a place to stay and clear and concise instructions on which accommodation was ours. Even apologising that no one would be there to welcome us. We cant thank them enough for the help they gave us. The location and accommodation are truly beautiful, we even had a private sauna!! we would have loved to stay longer but unfortunately needed to leave. Highly recommended
