Loch Lomond Castle Lodges

We stayed in the penthouse apartment at Lomond Castle Self Catering, and overall it was a really nice stay. The place was well supplied with everything we needed, and the master bedroom and bathroom were absolutely wonderful — spacious, comfortable, and beautifully done. The only small issue was that the towel warmers didn’t seem to be working, but aside from that, it was a solid, relaxing place to stay. Would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a cozy, scenic stay near Loch Lomond

This property is advertised as a luxury accommodation and a castle. It is a “castle” in facade only. Very impressive when driving up the gated property, however once entering the building itself, we were very disappointed. The common area is plain, the walls have been scuffed up, dinged and scraped, and dirty. Several lights were burned out in the halls, making it dim and dark. We chose this property because we wanted to stay in a castle and it is really an estate that has been converted into apartments (in the 1980s) - the penthouse apartment is showing signs of disrepair - cracked tiles in one of the bathrooms, scuffed walls, dining room chair that was falling apart, lamps that didn’t have shades stay in place and that were cracked, and unstable internet. It was supposed to have king beds and they were queens and a double. The host assured us that they were replacing the beds in the future - this doesn’t help us however. There was nothing luxurious about it - IKEA furnished. The location is the only thing that is nice. Don’t be fooled into thinking that it is a luxurious castle.

Amazing apartment. We had a private beach to go down and look at the amazing views of the loch. The apartment itself felt like we were staying in someone’s mansion and we had all the necessities and luxuries we could think of provided for us once we arrived.

Extremely Disappointed – Reservation Canceled Without Notice We booked this property months in advance, excited for a once-in-a-lifetime stay in a Scottish castle. After driving over five hours to get there—on the day of check-in—our reservation was abruptly canceled with no proper explanation or assistance. There was no regard for how far we had traveled or the impact this would have on our trip. No backup accommodations were provided, and we were left stranded with very little time to find somewhere else to stay. This kind of treatment is completely unprofessional and unacceptable. I highly recommend future travelers think twice before trusting this listing with important travel plans. A truly unfortunate and avoidable experience. Avoid at all cost. Terrible service
