Alexandria sits on the edge of Loch Lomond National Park, where the landscape shifts between woodland and water. Primrose Cottage is one of several converted farm buildings at Auchendennan, a working property that has restored a cluster of holiday cottages across its grounds. It's a single-storey, semi-detached place designed for two, with an open-plan living area and a wood-burning stove to warm it through cooler months.
The cottage has one bedroom and one bathroom, with essentials like electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi included. You'll have sole use of the property and can park on site. There's a pub within walking distance if you don't fancy cooking. The immediate area is good for walking—oak woods line the loch, attracting redstarts and wood warblers in summer, and the higher country around Breadalbane draws golden eagles. Sailing and water sports happen on the loch itself; nearby rivers are known for fishing and canoeing. Smoking is not permitted inside.

We had a great time here at the lodge as a group of 6 good friends. We had a hot tub and a sauna for our use while there. The house was a great size and clean throughout..3 bedrooms and bathrooms so no fighting to get there first 😁. There were a few little things that maybe need updated but would certainly go back there.

We just loved staying at Auchendennan. The self catering units were just fab. We took our two beardies and they just loved staying there. We would certainly want to stay there again.

We recently had ferry issues while trying to leave Islay, which left us stranded late at night with no where to go. We rang other places but no one wanted to help because of the lateness and also because we only needed 1 night. We rang here and explained our predicament and they came to our aid instantly. We were given a place to stay and clear and concise instructions on which accommodation was ours. Even apologising that no one would be there to welcome us. We cant thank them enough for the help they gave us. The location and accommodation are truly beautiful, we even had a private sauna!! we would have loved to stay longer but unfortunately needed to leave. Highly recommended
