Ballygroggan Bungalow

Argyll and Bute

View on Google Maps

A renovated bungalow on a working sheep farm, Ballygroggan sits high above the Kintyre Peninsula with uninterrupted views across water towards Islay, Jura and Gigha. The property stands at the end of a long rural road, surrounded by countryside that drops away to the coastline below. From here the Kintyre Way walking route passes through the farmyard and climbs towards higher ground, making it a natural base for exploring on foot.

Everything is on the ground floor: an open-plan living space with a woodburner, a kitchen equipped for proper cooking, and two bedrooms (one double, one twin) sharing a shower room. The owners have included initial logs for the burner, and essentials like electricity, wi-fi, bed linen and towels are covered. There is parking for two cars on site, an enclosed garden with a barbecue, and a bike store. One well-behaved pet is welcome. No smoking inside.

Machrihanish, a short drive away, has a sandy beach backed by a play park and a pub. The area is known for golf—Machrihanish itself has a championship course, and five other quality courses lie within 20 miles. The property suits families and couples wanting a quiet base with serious views, though it is genuinely remote; the nearest town is Campbeltown.
