Dunoon sits on the Cowal Peninsula within Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, and Benmore Stable occupies a converted barn on a working farm just outside the town. The original structure has been restored with care: thick stone walls, narrow slit windows and coombed ceilings remain, while the interior timber—Douglas Fir harvested and hand-crafted on the farm itself—brings warmth throughout. The ground floor is open plan, with a wood-burning stove, dining table and fully equipped kitchen that includes a dishwasher and washing machine. Upstairs, two bedrooms offer space and light; the larger has a double bed, the smaller two singles. One bathroom serves the property, with a bath, shower and underfloor heating powered by biomass.
The cottage is yours alone, with an enclosed garden to the front and parking for two cars on site. One well-behaved dog stays free. Essentials are covered—bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and heating—with wood for the stove included to get you started. The coast and Benmore Botanic Gardens are within walking distance, and the wider park offers lochs, hills and woodland walks. No smoking inside.

We had a beautiful stay at Benmore Stable. The housw is situated in beautiful surroundings, right in the middle of nature. Don't expect a supermarket or café within walking distance, but do expect the most beautiful walk right on your doorstep. We were made to feel very welcome and warmly received by the owners; the cottage was very clean, well-equipped, and provided with every convenience.

We had the best stay in the lovely Byre! The house was comfortable and well-furnished, with the most amazing views from the kitchen. It was wonderful to be off the beaten track nestled in the glen, with Loch Eck at our doorstep as well as Benmore Botanic Gardens, Puck's Glen and many other wonders . Hosts were great and we highly recommend this location.

Absolutely stunning place to stay. Has everything you could possibly need. Gardens and decking area are all fenced so perfect for the kids to play, and the added bonus of seeing the owner of the farm heard his sheep. Both owners are very accommodating and nothing is to much trouble for them. Also just a short walk from the Benmore Gardens redwood cafe and stunning gardens. Highly recommend 👌
