Grouse Lodge

Dunoon sits on the Firth of Clyde at the edge of Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, where woodland walks lead to waterfalls and the water itself invites kayaking or fishing. Grouse Lodge is a single-storey property set among trees near the shores of Loch Eck, where you have the whole place to yourselves and your dog stays free.

The three bedrooms—one double and two twin—sleep six; there is one shower room. Ground-floor living means no stairs, and a wood-effect electric burner in the lounge provides warmth on cooler evenings. The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking: electric oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge-freezer. A front garden with seating looks out over the grounds, and you have parking for two cars on site. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included; heating is electric central.

Puck's Glen's moss-covered paths and waterfall cascades are minutes away. Benmore Botanic Garden, known for its giant redwood trees, sits a short drive off. Dunoon's shops, cafés and waterfront are equally close. The lodge does not permit smoking.
