Royal Marine Hotel

Myself and my husband and our 2dogs have just returned from a lovely weekend in Dunoon staying at the hotel. It was lovely, room was very nice, very clean and well equipped. The staff were very friendly. Steve and Moira were very approachable and couldn’t do enough to help! Food was delicious! We will definitely go back. Great weekend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I stayed in the hotel for 2 nights and wished I'd booked longer. The room was lovely (Gigha) and had a sea view. Considering the ferry port is across the road I hardly heard any noise and honestly the lights from the ferries berthed at night was quite pretty against the skyline, there was no noise from the ferry at night. The room and bathroom were spotless really spacious and very peaceful which is what I'd hoped for and Moira (and Michelle) made sure the rooms had everything I needed. The bed was really comfortable and the room was a nice and warm. I ate in the hotel both nights, first night and the steak was absolutely delicious, I had chicken curry which was also lovely and very filling. I was on my own but it'd be great for couples too, of which there were quite a few staying when I did. The hotel is undergoing some changes but nothing disruptive so it'll be interesting to see how it'll look. The staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The location was great especially handy for the ferry and was also close enough to Dunoon. It's a lovely big hotel and it was busy as there was a car rally on in the town so it was an all-round great time for me.

I had a wonderful overnight stay at the Royal Marine Hotel in Dunoon with my mum. From the moment we arrived, the customer service was outstanding. The receptionist was friendly, helpful, and welcoming—he even mentioned they had a new chef, which set high expectations for dinner. The food did not disappoint. Dinner was excellent, perfectly cooked, and served with genuine care. Our server was attentive, chatty, and made the evening feel relaxed and special. The room was spotlessly clean and tidy, and the beds were incredibly comfortable—we both slept brilliantly. Breakfast the next morning offered a great variety, and the full breakfast was delicious. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. We will definitely be back and highly recommend the Royal Marine Hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable night away. Thank you for making it such a lovely experience!

Dreadful really ! On arrival we felt like we were a problem. Not the friendliest welcome. We have 2 wee dogs and it is a dog friendly hotel but we were immediately told there's an extra payment for dogs- absolutely fine £12.50 each. The room wasn't the cleanest so dogs weren't going to make an impact there. The towels were stained with brown . It advertises free WiFi but doesn't provide a password. The shower was a puzzle- to get warm water.The bar was closed the whole time. We were asked if we wanted breakfast and as we thought about it we were told you have to pay for it now you can't decide in morning. OK fair enough. It's a shame because Dunoon is a good place to visit but I can't imagine what tourists think of this hotel. It's cheap but not even worth that - maybe with a friendly welcome a smile always helps.
