Old Owl
Argyll and Bute

Argyll and Bute's coastline draws people for its quiet drama—rocky shores, distant mountains, the kind of landscape that makes you want to stay put rather than dash between attractions. Old Owl sits within the grounds of a private golf club near Glendaruel, a mile from the coast itself. The lodge sleeps 14 across seven bedrooms and three bathrooms, making it suited to large family groups or friends gathering for a week away. One dog is welcome.
The ground floor holds three of the bedrooms: a master with a super-king bed and ensuite shower, a king-size room opening onto a covered courtyard, and a bunk room. A family shower room and separate WC serve this level. Upstairs is a generous open-plan living space with views across the golf course and a lake beyond; the lounge has comfortable seating and a Smart TV, the dining area a glass table, and the kitchen is properly equipped for cooking—electric oven, induction hob, microwave, American-style fridge with ice maker. A first-floor balcony has seating for outdoor meals and an egg chair; there's also a covered veranda on the ground floor. A washing machine and tumble dryer are in the utility room. WiFi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included.
The golf club on the grounds has an 18-hole course and a 9-hole course (visitor passes and buggy hire available for a fee), an indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi, and a clubhouse serving food and drinks. Beyond that, the Argyll coast offers everything from kayaking to coastal walks, and the inland glens are good for cycling and exploring. No smoking throughout.
