Oystershell Lodge sits on the Ballimore Estate with the shoreline 20 yards away. The whole ground floor opens as one living space: a generous room with woodburner and television, a dining area seating six, and a kitchen fitted with electric oven, hob, dishwasher and full-size fridge. Patio doors lead directly onto decking where you can watch the loch and its birds throughout the day. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included.
Three bedrooms sleep six. The first is a double with an ensuite shower. The other two are twin rooms sharing a family bathroom with bath and shower. Everything is on one level, which suits families or those who prefer to avoid stairs. One dog is welcome. Parking for two cars is on site, and the lodge is non-smoking.
Tighnabruaich is a small village on the Cowal peninsula. The nearest shop is 16 miles away in Strachur. The setting is rural and quiet, best suited to those wanting seclusion by the water rather than walking distance to amenities.

The location and the view is something amazing a variety of the birds that you enjoy although it’s far away from everything but there is a very nice kitchen and restaurant not far from me it’s for peace and quiet and to relax and enjoy the beach so I like it but the lodge needs more renovation I guess overall it was a nice vacation

AVOID AVOID AVOID This place is super dated and hasn't been updated in decades, they don't provide enough basic stuff (dishwasher tabs, toilet roll, matches for fire etc) for the length of stay and there are NO SHOPS unless you drive for 30 mins. Hot water was broken on arrival and took 72 hours to fix. This was a total nightmare with two small babies in our group. Also meant we couldn't swim in the loch and have a warm shower afterwards... pretty much the point of going there... at first host offered compensation but then backed out... Don't book through airbnb, the host isn't the owner, and comms are a pain in the ass when something goes wrong, we were blamed for breaking things without any description/detail... the only thing we know was broken during our stay was an old plastic kitchen chair which was already cracked. We alerted the host during our stay, and rather than saying sorry (it hurt my friends thigh), it's held against us?! Also, path down to the house is super dangerous as there's a drop and no working outdoor light - my wife fell and hurt herself, not a WORD of apology or acknowledgement from the host or owner. There are MUCH better places along the coast, wish we'd stayed at really nice airbnb in Gortein also on the water.

Lovely view, well equipped It has supplementary electric heaters which could be useful. The B road is 12 miles of windy single track road if that bothers you Tranquil and restful
