The Byre

Everything at The Byre spreads across one floor. You enter into a kitchen and dining space that opens toward a separate sitting room where a woodburner takes the chill off evenings. The four bedrooms branch off the same level—a kingsize, two zip-and-link doubles that split into singles, and a fourth with bunk beds. Two bathrooms are included, one with a bath and shower, the other a walk-in shower. Essentials like heating, linen, towels and Wi-Fi are covered; there's initial fuel for the fire too.

The property occupies a working barn conversion a mile from Tayvallich fishing village, positioned above Carsaig Bay on the Sound of Jura. A short path down from the cottage brings you to the beach; Jura itself sits visible across the water. The 1¾-acre garden has space to move around in, with a barbecue and a secluded picnic spot a few minutes' walk away where the light lingers over the island at dusk. There's parking for three cars on site, a bike store, and enough room for families and groups to spread out comfortably without feeling cramped. No smoking in the property.
