Willow Cottage

Willow Cottage is a converted stone building of the kind that dots the Argyll and Bute countryside—a single-storey structure with the solid character of rural Scottish architecture. The cottage sits within Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, close enough to the loch that you can explore it easily but far enough back to feel properly removed from things.

The property has one bedroom and one bathroom, and is yours alone. The interior centres on an open-plan living area with a wood-burning stove for cooler days. Everything needed for a short break is provided: bed linen, towels, electricity and wifi. There is parking on site, and a pub within a mile if you fancy an evening out without driving far. One well-behaved pet is welcome. No smoking indoors.

The location puts you in walking and wildlife territory. The oak woods around the loch attract redstarts, pied flycatchers and wood warblers in summer, while ospreys visit the water itself. Golden eagles range over the higher country inland, and if you're patient you may spot fallow deer moving through the trees. The rivers here draw salmon anglers, and the loch itself is known for sailing and water sports.
